What a CCTV installation includes
A CCTV system is more than the cameras. What separates a system that works from one that frustrates you is usually the recorder, the storage and the wiring, not the camera brand on the box.
Cameras matched to each position
A camera facing a bright driveway needs different handling from one under a dim car porch. We pick resolution, lens angle and night-vision type per position rather than fitting four identical units.
Recorder and storage
A DVR or NVR sized so your footage is still there when you need to look back, not overwritten after three days. Disk size is one of the bigger cost variables, covered on the harga CCTV page.
Wiring and power
Concealed where possible, trunked neatly where not, with proper power supply rather than daisy-chained adaptors.
Mobile app setup
We configure remote viewing on your phone, test it on your own data connection, and show you how to export a clip before we leave.
Choosing the right type of system
Analog (HD over coax) or IP
Analog systems run over coaxial cable and are the cheaper route, especially when reusing existing cabling. IP systems run over network cable, give higher resolution and support features like line-crossing detection. For most terrace homes analog is still adequate; for larger properties or where you want detail at distance, IP earns its cost.
Wired or wireless
Wired is more reliable and we recommend it wherever cable can be run. Wireless makes sense for a rented unit, a detached store room, or anywhere drilling is not an option, but it depends on your Wi-Fi reaching that spot consistently.
How many cameras
It depends on the property type. As a guide, based on the jobs we do most often: 2 to 4 cameras for an apartment or condo, 4 cameras for a single-storey terrace, 4 to 6 for a double-storey terrace, 6 to 8 for a bungalow, and 6 to 8 for an office. The survey confirms the final number, because corner lots and side boundaries change the answer.
Where footage is stored
On-site recorder is standard. Cloud or off-site backup is worth discussing if the recorder itself could be stolen in the incident you are trying to record.
Hikvision and Dahua
We are an authorised dealer for both, so the hardware comes through official distribution rather than grey-market stock. Our own installation work carries a one-month warranty; hardware is covered separately by the manufacturer.

Common CCTV questions
How many cameras do I need for my property?
As a guide from the jobs we do most: 2 to 4 for an apartment or condo, 4 for a single-storey terrace, 4 to 6 for a double-storey terrace, 6 to 8 for a bungalow, and 6 to 8 for an office. Corner lots and properties with long side boundaries usually sit at the upper end of their range.
How long does installation take?
A four-camera home system is normally completed within a day. Larger systems, concealed conduit through finished ceilings, or offices with long cable runs can extend into a second day.
How far back can I review footage?
That depends on hard disk size, camera count and resolution. We size the disk during the survey so you get a useful retention window rather than footage that overwrites itself before you notice anything happened.
Can I watch the cameras from my phone?
Yes. We set up the app during installation, test it on your own mobile data rather than only on your home Wi-Fi, and show you how to export a clip before we leave.
Do I need internet for CCTV to work?
Recording does not need internet, only power. Internet is required for remote viewing on your phone and for any cloud backup.
What warranty comes with the system?
Our installation work carries a one-month warranty. Cameras and recorders are covered under the manufacturer terms for the brand supplied, which we state on the quote.
Do you install CCTV in apartments and condos?
Yes, though management approval is often needed for common-area cabling. Apartment jobs are usually 2 to 4 cameras covering the entrance and any balcony access point.
Where cameras actually earn their place
Coverage matters more than camera count. Four cameras in the right positions beat eight pointed at the same driveway. These are the positions we cover first, in roughly this order.
The main gate and approach
The single most useful angle. Set wide enough to catch someone standing at the gate and the road behind them, but not so wide that faces become unusable pixels.
The front door and car porch
Covers both the entry point and your vehicles. Under a porch roof, glare from the driveway behind is the usual problem, which is why camera choice per position matters.
The rear or kitchen door
The entry point most often used when the front is covered, and the one most often left out of a cheap package.
Side boundaries and blind corners
On corner lots and double-storey terraces this is where the extra cameras go. It is also why a bungalow needs six to eight rather than four.
The recorder itself
Worth covering. A recorder in an unmonitored corner can be removed along with the evidence, which is the argument for off-site backup.
